Raymond Jonson
(1891-1982) As a painter and a professor, Raymond Jonson was instrumental in developing a distinctive abstract movement in New Mexico. In 1938 Jonson helped form the famed Transcendental Painting Group in order to broaden the public's knowledge and acceptance of non-objective painting.
